THE EXPERIENCE

The Thorofare

The adventure of a lifetime!  The Yellowstone Thorofare trip is the ultimate back country expedition that will guide you through the most remote region of the Lower 48 where you will truly feel the untouched majesty of the Earth.  Ranging from 9 to 12 days, you will cover up to 100 miles of  country that few are lucky enough to experience.  The southeast region of Yellowstone is home to the largest population of Grizzly bears. Herds of elk can be seen grazing in wildflower-strewn meadows of the high country, and sighting wolves is a real possibility.  The scenery is incredible, the horseback riding spectacular, and you will only share the fishing spots with eagles.  This trip will undoubtedly touch your senses in a way nowhere else can.  Gather your sense of adventure and travel with us to a corner of the globe few have ever seen.

Fly Fishing

Fly fishing in Yellowstone is one of the best spots in the world to cast a line.  Overnight pack trips are a fantastic way to access the finest fishing in remote areas of the Park.  These rivers, creeks, and lakes receive very little pressure compared to the "front country" fishing areas in and around Yellowstone.  We excel at personalizing trips to accommodate the novice to expert angler, with the option of a private fly fishing guide.  Native to Yellowstone's waters are rainbow trout, lake trout, brook trout, brown trout, and the magnificent cutthroat trout.  In addition to many lesser-known tributaries and lakes, we have access to Slough Creek, Lamar River, and the famous Yellowstone River.

For single day outings ask about our Full-day horseback ride with Fly-Fishing *Kipp 406-581-5534 or Heidi 406-579-1222

With a Fly-Fishing guide:$650 per person, per day ( 2 person min.)

Combo Ride & Fish

Do you dream of cruising up hills to take in sweeping vistas with your steed while your partner wants nothing more than to spend the day knee-deep in waders?  Our pack trips provide the perfect opportunity for both activities!  There are many areas in Yellowstone which provide sublime fishing access for anglers and miles of track for equine enthusiasts.  Spend the evenings in marvelous spots recounting the day's tales around a crackling campfire and renewing the body with sumptuous fare.  You will have the expertise of a personal wrangler and fly fishing guide to lead your group in outdoor endeavors in places like Sportsman Lake, Soldier's Corral, and Pebble Creek.

If you only have one day, we do offer single day outings: Ride & Fish $650 per person with a min. of 2 guests *Comes with a Fly-Fishing guide Or $495 per person, per day and no Fly-Fishing guide.

Hot Springs & Art

Envision mornings spent writing, painting, or photographing wildlife, and afternoons soaking in natural hot spring pools.  The Bechler region in the southwest corner of Yellowstone offers scenic beauty coupled with the unique opportunity to hotpot in the back country.  Yellowstone National Park has been inspiring creative people since before its inception, and over the years Rockin' HK Outfitters has been privileged to take out artists of all ilks, including photographers, painters, sculptors, and musicians.  With our team of trusty mules, we have the ability to carefully pack and transport your required artistic equipment to the most picturesque places in Yellowstone!
