Paint, White, and Chestnut Horses

What's next?

Pony Rides: $30
This activity is designed to introduce children aged 4 to 7 years to horses. We spend about half an hour with the kids, letting them brush and pet the horses while asking any questions they have. We then put them up into tiny little saddles for their walk around our facility.

Catch Your Breath: $50
This is a one hour session of equine facilitated wellness for 8yrs. & up. This is a full hour of guided horse time. This activity is all done on the ground, so if you are looking to spend time learning about horses, grooming a horse, or maybe you've had a wreck and just want to get your confidence back. Horses have a way of making us feel unstressed. This activity a lot of times becomes directed by the horse. It is a time to breathe and be calm with a beautiful, strong, gentle animal.

1 Hour Ride: $60
This one hour ride is a great way to get started in the saddle. Ages 8 to 80 can enjoy this walking trail ride.

2 Hour Ride: $85
A two hour trail ride offers a little more action with a little more elevation and views. This ride is designed for ages 8 and up.

1/2-day Ride: $140
This ride is done right out of the Chico Barn. We are able to access the surrounding Forest Service Lands for a breathtaking ride with beautiful views of Paradise Valley. A snack is included.

Full-Day Ride: $250

Get off the asphalt and onto the trail!  Our full-day trail rides are for adventure seekers looking to trek into the back country of Yellowstone with their equine companion.  These rides are a great way to immerse yourself in the undisturbed quietness of nature—the possibility of animal sightings, scenic views, sore backsides and lots of smiles are high.

Most of our full-day rides are located in the northern region of the Park, near the Gardiner, MT gate.  Guests typically meet (depending on lodging location) at the Chico Horse Barn near Pray, MT and follow their guide into Yellowstone National Park.  The day includes a hearty, healthy sack lunch and drinks. Great horses and an experienced, certified, Yellowstone National Park  guide make your day memorable, safe and informative.  A typical day can range from 4-8 hours, and is fully personalized to your group’s wishes.  Fly fishing excursions are also available.

This ride is recommended for ages 13 and up; please review our fitness requirement chart here.  Minimum 2-person reservation required; singles can be added to an existing day ride if available.  Wondering what to bring?  Check our FAQ page for a list of gear.  Full-day rides available mid-June through September.

Carriage Ride Group

Dot and Doll

Horse Drawn Carriage Rides: $45 per Person; $25 children 4-8 years old (under 4 free)

This ride is great for all ages and can accommodate groups up to 12 people.  On and off site wedding carriage rides are also available.

Trail Ride Fitness Requirement

We reserve the right to restrict our trail riding guests to meet these requirements to secure the safety and comfort of both horse and rider. This does not mean we do not have activities for all horse enthusiasts. If you find that you do not meet these requirements, we offer carriage/wagon rides or 1-hour guided horse activities on the ground.
